MV Manta Queen III
This is the latest custom built boat amongst the Manta Queen family. Launched in 2011, it is for day trip or overnight stay and anchored in Similan National Marine Park. The transfers to the boat will be done by speedboat and only an hour from Khao Lak. In the Similan Islands you will get a chance to have close encounter of manta rays or even whale sharks on some of the dive sites. More famous of the shark family are the leopard sharks that sleep on the sand and you get really close to them. Lots of barracudas in all sizes hunt the reef and lots of colourful reef fish which make the Similan National Marine Park the best place for scuba diving and snorkeling in all of Thailand.
Accommodation and facilities
MV Manta Queen III accommodates 18 guests in spacious air-conditioned cabins. 3 cabin types are available; 1 master ensuite cabin, 2 deluxe ensuite cabins and 6 standard cabins to suit either 2 or 3 guests. While not diving, you can relax on the sun deck and huge saloon with flatscreen TV. All meals onboard are served buffet style freshly cooked onboard the kitchen. Snacks and fruits are served in between dives.
Best Time to Visit
The Similan National Park is closed from 1 May to 1 November each year. The Similan Islands, located about 50 Kilometers West of Khao Lak, are composed of nine granite islands washed by a clear blue tropical ocean and blessed with some of the world’s finest beaches. Similan is a Yawi or Malay word, which means nine or a group of nine islands. In 1982, this 128 square kilometres area was declared a marine national park, and in recent years this group of nine small islands has become one of the leading attractions for visitors to Southern Thailand.
Arrival and Boarding
Check-in at Khao Lak dive center before 8am to fit your dive equipment before you are transferred to the harbor in Tablamu, a10 miinute ride away. Thereafter, hop on the speedboat to Manta Queen III. Once you arrived on the boat, you will be shown your cabin to get ready for your diving adventure.
